Desalination

By 2013 Israel will desalinate 600 million cubic meters of water: almost its entire domestic water consumption.

Israel has the largest and the most efficient desalination plant in the world in reverse osmosis. It produces 110 million cubic meters of water a year at approximately 60 cents per cubic meter.

Today Israel desalinates about 25% of its domestic water consumption
